Backing Up Home Videos with a DVD Ripper |

The inherent problem with any sort of disc is its ability to be scratched, smudged or ruined by millions of different situations. This is why I’ve invested a little bit of money into a DVD ripper. Well, software to rip DVDs. There is probably 300 different DVD rippers to choose from online. They all pretty much do the same thing so for me it came down to price. A favorite retailer had exactly what I was looking for and that was that.
Now I’ve been able to back up all of those home movies I made through the teenage years. I spent a good amount of time in high school fumbling around with editing and cameras. There was the mini action movie we made that got cut short when the teacher said we couldn’t included the car chase footage filmed, an artsy short of what it would be like if fish fished for people and then a couple comedy music videos. Apart from that, I have random fourth of July firework fun and dirt bike days on the track. The DVD ripper has backed up all of this stuff.
