One of the greatest treasures of my life are the photographs of my family. I take pictures all the time and literally have hundreds of photo albums and boxes full of incredible memories. When my mother passed away, she also had a large amount of old pictures. Nobody knew what to do with them, but I was very happy to take them. The only problem is that they are old and fading. A friend of mine suggested that I preserve them with my laptop computer. At first I didn't understand what she was getting it. How could I preserve these old photos with my laptop computer?

I have to admit, I couldn't get the thought of saving all of my old photographs on my laptop computer. I called her one day and asked her to come over and explain what she meant. She did even better. She brought over her laptop computer to show me exactly what she was talking about. Once she arrived, she turned on the laptop computer. A few clicks of some folders and there were thousands of old pictures. She even told me there were some pictures that dated back more than 90 years. The key to her being able to do this is with a scanner. I have never owned a scanner because I thought they were a little complicated to use. But, my friend assured me that they are easy, especially the one she has.

While she had the laptop computer opened, she connected to the Internet and went to a website called Zunes Plus. This website, which can be found by visiting their online store at www.zunesplus.com/, was full of computer accessories and electronics. She immediately went to a page that had a listing for a ScanSnap S1500 She told me this was the same scanner she had and it worked perfectly.

I was so excited about the possibility of saving my old pictures that I bought the scanner right then. Once it arrived from Zunes Plus, my friend came over and helped me get started scanning the pictures onto my laptop computer. After a few minutes I started to get the hang of it. However, after a short period of time I realized that my laptop computer was not going to be able to hold all my pictures. I thought about it for awhile, and decided to go back to Zunes Plus to pick up an extra hard drive. This way I can scan all my pictures, and be able to take them with me to show on other computers.
