Okay, I think that we have all been here: you get a new DVD and you are all excited about adding that next coveted title to your growing collection. Then the DVD gets scratched and you are devastated! You just wasted money on a volatile medium that you are not able to return or exchange! But wait, there are some really easy ways around this! Do what I do: Back up your DVDs using DVD ripper software. Whenever I get a new DVD I always make sure to make a backup copy with my DVD ripper software. This way the actual DVD stays safe and sound and I can enjoy watching the copy of it on my DVD player and not have to worry about scratching or damaging it at all. And if it does get scratched for some reason, then I can simply make another copy with my DVD ripper software applications and I am all set. In fact, I even found out that you can legally, and are allowed to, make one backup copy of DVDs because they can become easily damaged.
